How most teams do it today

Most people track follow-ups in their head, on a sticky note, or as starred emails. All three lose entropy fast. A customer asks for a quote on Monday, you reply "Friday at the latest", then Friday arrives and you're three other fires deep. One commitment slipping costs a deal. Every email you send and every meeting you attend is scanned by an extractor that pulls structured commitments ("I'll send X by Friday", "let me get back to you on Y") into a task queue. Tasks are tied back to the source thread or transcript so you can verify what you actually said. Overdue tasks surface a few days before the due date so the follow-up happens proactively - not after the customer pings you again.

    Extract on send

    When you send an email, Inboxer's extractor reads the message body and identifies commitments you just made. "I'll get back to you next week" → task with a due date set to one week out, linked to the thread.

    Extract from meetings

    When a Recall.ai bot records and transcribes a call, the same extractor processes the transcript. Action items you said you'd take, dates you promised, decisions reached - all become tasks. The transcript stays linked so you can verify any disputed item.

    Two flavours: commitments + follow-ups

    Commitments are things YOU said you'd do. Follow-ups are things you're waiting on from someone else. Inboxer separates them in the task UI so you can scan the right list at the right moment - your daily review for commitments, your weekly review for follow-ups that have gone quiet.

    Auto-archive after completion

    Mark a task done with one click. Done tasks fade out of the active view but stay searchable. A done task still appears under the original thread for context, so a quick "did we follow up on X?" is one search away.

    Re-extract on edit

    If you edit an email or send a correction, Inboxer re-runs the extractor and reconciles tasks with the new message. No stale duplicates from drafts that got rewritten before send.
